Remote Access - Windows

Windows - Remote Desktop Connection

  1. Click on the "Start" button and then immediately start typing "Remote Desktop"

  2. Click on "Remote Desktop Connection" on the star menu

  3. Once the application opens, select "Show Options"

  4. Enter in your "Connection Entry" and "Username" (this is provided to you by your technician)

  5. Once your information is populated, click on "Allow me to save credentials" and select "Save As..."

  6. Save the Remote Desktop Connection somewhere where your can easily locate it (ex. Desktop)
  7. Once the connection is saved, a new icon will be available for you to connect to your computer remotely.

  8. Double click on the Remote Desktop icon to open the connection. When prompted, select "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and then select "Connect"

  9. Enter in your password (provided to your by your technician), select "Remember Me" and then click "OK"

  10. A second pop-up will appear. Select "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and then select "Yes"

  11. One "Yes" is selected, you will then be brought to your remote desktop.

Note: Once the initial connection is made, you will no longer receive the pop-up warnings from steps 8 and 10 if the instructions were following correctly.
